However, we want to provide families with resources to educate and enlighten the practitioners who work with our children and have put together packs specifically for this purpose. These include some of our own publications, leaflets, posters and information for you to share with your preschool setting.

  • A5 information leaflets that can be displayed in a reception area, and/or sent home to parents. These state what we want other parents to know, who are perhaps afraid or feel awkward to ask - tackling the elephant in the room head on!

PADS Celebration Cards

At PADS we love to celebrate the progress of every baby. These 36 beautiful cards designed especially for PADS are a wonderful way to record precious moments as time flies! They celebrate the typical age and dates events, wonderful first physical developments such as first time baby smiles, rolls over, claps and finds their feet. However, they also celebrate some fabulous messages such as I am loved to the moon and back, I make my mummy's heart burst with pride and I am the apple of my daddy's eye. In addition, we have included some that are more Down syndrome specific that everyone can celebrate - first World Down Syndrome Day, first time I signed, watched Mr Tumble and I am a PADS Pal!

PADS Little orange book of knowledge - also known as "You don't know what you don't know"! This book is a guide for new parents of a baby with Down syndrome in the UK. An introduction to some of the common issues our children may face, as well as information around services families can access. It also includes a guide to the services PADS currently offers and a handy directory of key health care contacts. The book was developed as an online resource with hyperlinks. At the request of parents we have now created a printed version but obviously the hyperlinks aren't included!
