In this one hour and ten minute session we are joined by Maggie Woodhouse. Maggie has been working for over 25 years in the field of visual development in children with Down syndrome. She has been instrumental in developing new tests and techniques to allow the assessment of vision in people with limited communication.
During this session Maggie will be discussing all things eye care for children with Down syndrome including what to expect in an eye test, why they are needed for our children, the use of eye drops, choosing glasses, nystagmus and other eye conditions associated with Down syndrome. Please note that this session is designed to look specifically at eyecare for children with Down syndrome
Our on-demand sessions give you access to a recording of our online Information Sharing Session ‘Supported Living’ from February 2025. You will have access for 90 days from the date of sign up you can watch and re-watch the presentation. You will need to be a member of our PADS Parent Portal to access the recording – it’s free to sign-up and if you aren’t already a member you can join here.
We are keen for everyone in the UK to be able to access our information and support. We are offering payment options for our families – the standard cost to attend this session is £5, but we are offering some places at £2.50 for those who are able to contribute but not at the full rate and for anyone for whom finances would prohibit them attending, we are pleased to be able to offer a number of places at no charge. We do not require any evidence of income; we are a parent-led charity, and we trust our families. Please select an option in the box at the top right of the page to pay or register for free here.
