Immunodeficiency and immune dysregulation

A brief overview of the immune system in the context of Down syndrome focussing on infections as well as specific conditions that can occur if the immune system gets out of balance (like autoimmunity, inflammation, malignancy). The session will be of interest to people with Down syndrome of all ages and will also highlight specific conditions that occur later in life.

This session is hosted by Maaike Kusters, Paediatrician at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Maaike specialises in the immune system and has a specialised syndromic immunodeficiency clinic.

Our on-demand sessions give you access to a recording of our online Information Sharing Session ‘Immunodeficiency and immune dysregulation’. You will have access for 90 days from the date of sign up you can watch and re-watch the presentation. You will need to be a member of our PADS Parent Portal to access the recording – it’s free to sign-up and if you aren’t already a member you can join here.
