Yorkshire Three Peaks

Take on one of the UK’s most iconic mountain challenges. Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough all in a single unforgettable day. Whether you prefer total freedom or expert-led support, we’ve got an option to match your ambition.

Covering 24 miles with significant ascent, the challenge is a chance to push yourself physically and mentally while fundraising for a cause that makes a real difference.

Why take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks for DSUK?

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is about endurance, teamwork and determination – qualities that many families draw on every day.

By fundraising for Down Syndrome UK, your challenge helps us:

  • support parents with trusted information and reassurance
  • provide practical guidance through early years, school and beyond
  • improve understanding of Down syndrome in healthcare, education and communities

Every step and every climb helps us be there for families at every stage of the journey.

The peaks

Pen-y-ghent | 694 meters

Pen-y-ghent is often the first peak tackled in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, and it makes an immediate statement. With its distinctive stepped profile and rocky ascent, it’s a sharp introduction to the day ahead.

Whernside | 736 meters

Whernside is the highest peak in the challenge and often considered the most physically demanding due to its lengthy ascent. The climb is gradual but relentless, with wide paths that leave you exposed to the elements.

Ingleborough | 723 meters

Ingleborough is the final peak and arguably the most dramatic. Its broad, flat summit rises above a limestone plateau, creating a powerful sense of scale and achievement. The ascent can feel tough after a full day on the trail, but reaching the top brings an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
