October Awareness Month
Whether you're walking 2.1 miles for the Big PADS Push or sharing one of our 31 awareness facts online, every action helps promote understanding, challenge stereotypes, and support families from the very beginning.
This October, we’re excited to launch our “TO BE” campaign for Down Syndrome Awareness Month. The campaign is a celebration of individuality, focusing on what every person with Down syndrome deserves “to be”, what they aspire “to be” and what they are proud “to be”. Through raising awareness, we’re creating space for fairness, equality, and respect, encouraging everyone to join us in embracing and celebrating differences in a positive and meaningful way.

Take on the Big PADS Push Challenge!
The Big PADS Push is a family-friendly sponsored walk organised by Down Syndrome UK to raise awareness of Down syndrome and support new and expectant families. Whether you’re a family, individual, office at work or school, join us for a sponsored walk of just 2.1 miles in October.

Join our exciting social media campaign by sharing your “Proud to be” frame! Whether you’re proudly CELEBRATING or SUPPORTING someone with Down syndrome, we’ve got the perfect frame for you. You can even choose to celebrate Ellie Goldstein this month on Strictly Come Dancing!

School Resources

We’ve created a collection of school resources designed to help children learn about inclusion, diversity and kindness. These resources are grouped by age so you can easily find the right activities for your class.
