Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome Day is a chance to celebrate people with Down syndrome for who they are – not as a diagnosis – but as valued members of our families, schools and communities.
Countdown to World Down Syndrome Day!
World Down Syndrome Day 2026 is extra special. Falling on a Saturday – for the last time in over a decade – it gives us a rare chance to come together and celebrate in a really big way.
This year, our community will be celebrating everywhere: in schools and workplaces, at home and in parks, online and in person. Whether it’s funky socks, sunflower challenges, fundraising, parties, skydives or sharing a story that matters to you, there’s no one right way to take part – just your way.
Scroll down to explore the different ways you can celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with us, and don’t forget to tag us so we can share the joy together.
Ways to get involved and fundraise!
21st of March 2026 is a Saturday and we have 30 places for brave souls to skydive together across the country. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
Just like sunflowers, we all grow and bloom in our own unique way. The DSUK Sunflower Challenge is all about celebrating individuality, kindness and inclusion.
Take on a 21-themed activity – run 21 laps, do 21 acts of kindness, or something unique to you!

Celebrate on 21st March and host a “rock your socks” day! Wear your funkiest socks to symbolise the uniqueness of every chromosome.

Join us in raising just £21 to help us continue supporting and celebrating people with Down syndrome.

Whip up some yummy treats and host a bake sale. Download our bake sale pack with some useful tips, bunting and cake toppers to make your sale stand out.
