When I was younger, I could only have dreamed of marrying someone as amazing as you. I worried I wouldn’t be able to find a wife – some people even think people with Down syndrome don’t fall in love or get married. We will prove them wrong!
Some will doubt that we will be able to live independently, but with the support of people who believe in us we will live not only independently but joyfully. Before we live together, I will learn to catch the bus and the train to visit you, and before long we will be cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry in the lovely home that will be ours.
We will have an exciting life filled with love, which we will share not only with our family and friends but with the whole world! TV channels and newspapers will want to interview us about our beautiful wedding day, and politicians and law makers not just in the UK but in other countries will want to talk to us about living with Down syndrome.
Don’t believe me? Just wait and see, it will all be true!
Dear Future Wife, you are an extraordinary person, and I will never stop loving you. Don’t doubt what we will achieve, together we can do anything.
