Dysphagia

The session is delivered by Nicole Murray, a speech and language therapist who specialises in Dysphagia and Feeding. Nicole, gives an overview of the issues around eating and drinking for children and babies with Down syndrome. Specifically, she looks at preparing for weaning, the mechanics of eating and drinking, reasons for and signs of dysphagia and what to do in the event of any issues.

This 40 minute session is for parents and professionals dealing with dysphagia. Dysphagia is the medical term for swallowing difficulties and this session is dedicated to looking at eating and drinking problems for babies and children with Down Syndrome.

Our on-demand sessions give you access to a recording of our online Information Sharing Session ‘Dysphagia’. You will have access for 90 days from the date of sign up you can watch and re-watch the presentation. We are keen for everyone in the UK to be able to access our information and support. We are offering payment options for our families – the standard cost to attend this session is £5, but we are offering some places at £2.50 for those who are able to contribute but not at the full rate and for anyone for whom finances would prohibit them attending, we are pleased to be able to offer a number of places at no charge. We do not require any evidence of income; we are a parent-led charity, and we trust our families.
