DSUK's Sunflower Challenge
Just like sunflowers, we all grow and bloom in our own unique way. The DSUK Sunflower Challenge is all about celebrating individuality, kindness and inclusion.
Every year on the 21st March we come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day – the date represents the 21st chromosome present in individuals with Down syndrome. At the start of March, plant the seeds and watch as the sunflowers grow during the countdown to World Down Syndrome Day and continue to care for your sunflower as it blooms. We’re encouraging anyone to take part this year; schools, care homes, families and clubs are all welcome.
Take part by purchasing your sunflower packs and following the instructions.
Each pack includes:
- A bright A4 poster to show you’re taking part in the challenge.
- A double-sided A5 flyer with growing instructions and challenge details.
- A pack of sunflower seeds ready for planting.
- A sheet of colourful stickers to encourage and reward participation.
